The Founders

Alex and Loes have learnt the power of true interdisciplinary collaboration based on trust and curiosity: they had both been practicing anticipation for emergence, just through very different entry points.
Loes is an award-winning educator and a UNESCO Futures Literacy Chairholder with a global reputation for evolving the field of Futures Literacy (FL). Building on the foundational work of her mentor Riel Miller, she and her team have developed their own applied methodologies that have made her a leading figure in navigating systemic complexity and uncertainty by being more open for emergence. She researches the impact of FL and trains and consults at global organizations such as FutureWomenX, UNESCO, UNFCCC, ClimateKIC, Museum of Tomorrow, UN, Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies and Oxfam. She is a Future Fellow at Hawkwood College, a steering committee member of the Futures Oriented Museum Synergies, and an editor for the Journal of Futures Studies.
Alex Lambie is an experiential architect working at the interface of foundational narrative and systemic agency. He designs immersive installations of pause, interrupting linear restrictions of "knowing" to recalibrate our innate sensory capacities for awareness in uncertainty. His work is rooted in the narrative interventions he has developed since 2016 and field-tested with over 3,500 participants. Alex is a UNESCO Futures Literacy Fellow and a Fellow at the Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking. His workshops and immersive installations have been commissioned by organisations including the Royal Society of Arts, UNESCO, Museum of Tomorrow International, Museum of Discovery (Adelaide), Blue Earth Summit, and the BMW Foundation.
